The Community Action Partnership of Oregon (CAPO) approached Oregon State University to assist in developing statewide indicators which help local agencies better utilize data for continuous improvement. The project was expanded to include Washington and Idaho. This report summarizes the project's findings.
From 26 March – 19 September 2013 we monitored the distribution, abundance and productivity of the federally Threatened Western Snowy Plover (Charadrius nivosus nivosus) along the Oregon coast. From north to south, we surveyed and monitored plover activity at Sutton Beach, Siltcoos River estuary, the Dunes Overlook, North and South...
The shift to open, and away from subscriptions, will require changes to many OSULP services, and OSULP’s reporting structure can be expected to evolve to accommodate such changes. This position paper recommends starting points for thinking about how OSULP could take on new roles and responsibilities that relate to the...
With legislation to protect wetlands and current pressures to convert them to other uses, it is often necessary to accurately determine a wetland-upland boundary. We investigated 6 methods to establish such a boundary based on vegetation. Each method was applied to a common data set obtained from 295 quadrats along...
Extensive information on rootstock resistance to lime is available since it has been one of the major selection criteria in Europe an rootstock breeding programs. Information regarding the performance of rootstocks in acidic soils however, is not so prevalent. Differences in genotype tolerance to high acidity maybe related to different...
The European green crab (Carcinus maenas) has persisted in Oregon and Washington coastal estuaries since the late 1990’s. After the arrival of a strong year class in 1998, significant recruitment to the populations occurred only in 2005, 2006, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Warm winter water temperatures, high Pacific Decadal Oscillation...

This assessment outlines an enhanced planning approach for West Coast estuaries that incorporates an evaluation of the regional context for estuarine conservation and recommends an approach to site-scale planning with more focus on ecological processes and functions.
We are convinced that the combination of data-parallel languages and MIMD hardware can make an important contribution to high speed computing. The data-parallel paradigm is a natural way to solve a large number of problems arising in science and engineering. Data-parallel programs are easier to design, implement, and debug than...
We monitored the distribution, abundance and productivity of the federally threatened Western Snowy Plover (Charadrius nivosus nivosus) along the Oregon coast from 3 April – 11 September 2015. From north to south, we surveyed and monitored plover activity at Sutton Beach, Siltcoos River estuary, the Dunes Overlook, North and South...
