Castle Rocks is 12 miles east of Mt. Jefferson, in the central
Cascades of Oregon. The area contains volcanic rocks ranging from
mid-Miocene to Holocene in age. These rocks record alternating
periods of tholeiitic and calc-alkaline volcanism.
