Tarif access tables were developed for mountain hemlock [Tsuga mertensiana (Bong.) Carr.] on the Deschutes National Forest in the Central Oregon Cascade Mountains from an equation for cubic-foot volume including top and stump (CVTS). These tables provide access to the comprehensive tree-volume tarif system.
Distributed deformation in the backarc of Cascadia is complex. Off the west

The inter-relationships of vegetation, soils, and stream channel erosion characteristics were examined in two riparian meadows of the Ochoco National Forest where progressive stream headcut incision is a critical resource management issue and restoration priority. Scientific literature establishes that headcut incision leads to lower groundwater tables, with corresponding shifts in...
Phytophthora lateralis is the causal agent of cedar root rot, a fatal forest pathogen whose principal host is Chamaecyparis lawsoniana (Port-Orford-cedar), a predominantly riparian-restricted endemic tree species of ecological, economical, and cultural importance to coastal Oregon and California. Local scale distribution of P. lateralis is thought to be associated with...
