Abstract
  • This review concentrates on 10 recent publications dealing with various aspects of radiation exchange in forest vegetation. The articles are discussed with respect to the following categories: definitions, instrumentation, the modification of radiation by vegetation, and radiation budgets. The papers reviewed have appeared for the most part during the period 1966-1971. The studies published during this period indicate continued interest in the role of radiation in energy budgets and in ecology. The quantity, quality, and direction of this recent research are encouraging, and offer promise for continued progress in our understanding of an important and complex environmental variable.
