  • Alfalfa is one of the oldest of cultivated forage plants. It was cultivated by the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and other nations of the Fast before the beginning of the Christian era. It is a native of the southern and western portion of Asia. It was early introduced into Spain and later into the South American countries and Mexico by the Spaniards.
