Abstract
  • In the fall of 2005, I studied abroad in Athens, Greece for one term. This is retelling of experiences that I had, written in the style of my memories. While I was in Greece, I kept an electronic diary, a picture diary, and a scrapbook to keep my memories vivid so that I could come back to Oregon State and write about the key elements of my journey. Different sections of this thesis are written in completely different styles such as diary entries, a script, charts, lists, and first person internal thought. The stories do not necessarily have a background or a conclusion, but they were all meaningful events that taught me about self-identity, overcoming personal expectations and assumptions as well as struggling to adjust and cope in a country so drastic from home.
