  • Growing strawberries in your home garden can be an interesting and rewarding experience. This publication describes various varieties of June-bearing, everbearing, and day-neutral strawberries and when they produce crops. It also explains where to plant strawberries and how to rotate a strawberry patch to optimize growth and minimize disease and discusses the matted-row and hill planting systems and the advantages and disadvantages of each. This document covers soil preparation, fertilization, planting, first season's care, care of established plantings, harvest, and pests.
