Abstract
  • Introduction: SSFs → Own characteristics that often affect prices. First‐sale prices are key for the sustainability of SSF,often price‐acceptors → influence of supra‐local factors (exports, imports, value‐chain forces) and industrial fisheries. Certain local/regional SSF management measures also aim to have effects on this price: fisheries regulation, commercial strategies, labelling, etc. The interest of labels and ecolabels for SSF products to add value and improve first‐sale prices has been previously outlined. Data‐poor contexts often affecting SSF make it difficult to understand the complex price formation mechanisms and to disentangle the real impact of different local‐regional management measures on their first sale prices.
