Abstract	This research is an effort to appraise the results of the 1963 legislation, especially in terms of the spatial aspect. Has it achieved the desired purpose? How many, and what size of farms are involved? Where are these farms located? The research field work resulted in a definitive map showing the distribution of lands in the Willamette Valley which receive special assessment under Oregon Revised Statutes 308. 370 to 380. 395 (hereafter referred to as 0. R. S. 308. 370). The spatial distribution pattern is analyzed and locational influences appraised. Finally the reality of participation is analyzed in relationship to the stated purposes of the act.
