Abstract
  • This study was designed to test the ability of atrazine and 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate to reduce the transpiration stress and thus prolong the life of potted Douglas-fir seedlings under various levels of shade. Treatment effectiveness was defined by the survival time of seedlings exposed to each combination of chemical treatment and shade. Shade was very beneficial, but any effects of the chemicals were masked by within treatment variation.
