Abstract
  • Vaccines are an incredibly important piece of preventative medicine, yet trends have emerged of parents refusing to vaccinate their children. My goal was to create an illustrated storybook that summarizes what a vaccine is, and how it enhances the body to fight disease. The book is designed to be read by a parent to a child, so that they both could learn more about this scientific topic. I structured the story using the educational theory of soviet psychologist Lev Vygotsky - whose educational approaches I was exposed to growing up in a Russian emigree household.
