Upon addressing the detriments of the Asian and/or Pacific Islander racial demographic along with acknowledging systemic barriers that PI student face in academia, a strengths-based approach is utilized to exemplify Pasifika-centric assets of cultural wealth. The next section of this paper discusses the evolution of Native Hawaiian scholars and the creation of their methodologies.
